The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FPCCI) is organising Pakistan's single-country exhibition in Delhi from March 3 to 11 this year.

This was announced by Muhammad Amin Khatri, chairman of FPCCI standing committee on fairs and exhibitions.

He said that preparations are also underway for participation in Mumbai international trade fair from January 9 to 15, 2004.

He said that Mumbai International Trade Fair 2004 is being organised with the co-operation of India's Trade Promotion Organisation, while Pakistan's single-country exhibition is being organised with the close co-ordination of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

He said that these two events are the immediate follow-up of the outcome of the recent 12th Saarc Summit held in Islamabad. Both events will provide opportunities to Pakistan's companies to expose their full range of trade and manufacturing potential in the Indian market.

Khatri was optimistic that both events would go a long way in exploring new avenues for promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations.

He said FPCCI has also plans that besides promoting trade Pakistan's heritage and culture would be projected during the Single-Country Exhibition where FPCCI intends to organise musical programme and cultural shows and put up Bar-B-Q (barbecue) restaurants.

He said that exhibition profile includes furniture and home décor, foods items and dry fruits, footwear, textiles, fabrics, garments, apparels, towels, consumer goods, precious stones and articles made thereof, handicrafts, automobile and engineering products and goods, melamine and plastic products, artificial and gold jewellery, electrical and mechanical appliances, kitchen wear, crockery, cutlery, ceramics, decorative items, sports goods, surgical items, fitness equipment, medicines, food items, wooden furniture, toys, hardware, leather garments/products, stationery items, lamp and lamp shades, cosmetics, herbal cosmetics and toiletries, consumer products and general merchandise etc.

Khatri said that FPCCI has issued necessary circular to its member bodies inviting applications from the interested companies.
