An advisory committee on sales tax and customs met here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Collector Customs, Sales Tax and Central Excise Nazim Salim.

The meeting reviewed the case of sales tax refunds and under invoicing/flying invoices cases, unregistered units, which are supplying goods to exporters, seizure of a 32 power looms textile unit which was not paying sales tax for the last six year, establishment of tax-payers facilitation center and other facilities for tax payers by the CBR.

The meeting listened to the local industrialists, exporters, importers and clearing agents' problems and assured them that these would be resolved on top priority basis.

The meeting was attended by Ejaz Ali Jafri Additional Collector, Fida Hussain Director Export Promotion Bureau, Khawaja Muhammad Younas, Khawaja Muhammad Yousaf on behalf of Multan Dry Port Trust, Zarif Ahmed, PIA Cargo Manager, Shamim Anwar Khan, Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed of NBP, Basharat Sheikh President of Customs Clearing agents association, Malik Israr Ahmed Awan President of Multan Chamber, Rashid Munir Siddiqui, Assistant Collector (headquarter) and presidents of Bahawalpur and D G. Khan chambers.
