Nearly 3000 bales of cotton changed hands mostly around the official rate, said relevant sources on Monday. The lint on offer was however from Sindh and Punjab.

The official spot rate of cotton was unchanged at Rs 3325 without ST and upcountry expenses.

Physical trading saw modest trading in the range of Rs 3050 to Rs 3350 depending on quality.

Sources, denying any effect of activity in Islamabad, said the buyers are not taking the risk of lifting requirement in haste.

However, following deals were reported: 1000 bales of Shahdadpur, and 1400 bales of Khanpur at Rs 3350 each; 200 bales of Chichawatni, and 200 bales of Hasilpur at Rs 3000 each.
